Not a smart thing to do but as the elevator still stopped on the floor I was able to walk around the abandoned floor that was severely damaged. Creepy.

I lived there in the 1960's & 70's. There was a fire on the top floor, (around 1972, not sure of the year). I went to work, straight from my friends. Got home at 8 in the morning. I lived on the main floor, east side. The window in the middle. Worked until noon getting the water out. It was coming down the stairs into the Senior Ladies apartment on the north side, then into my room. Boy was I tired. Someone told me that the ladder truck had trouble reaching the top floor.
