When I came sometimes to Paris I really appreciated the Tour Montparnasse and The Arc La Defense area. Both is too Paris to me like Tour Eiffel. All 3 are the Paris symbol as the others including the glass piramide at Louvre, Triumph Arc, Notre Dame Cathedral and Terminal F from airport, the structures I most like in Paris. The old fashioned lowrises bldgs have the interesting part, but for Parisiens maybe are better, not for me with an international point of view.
