There are reports of the City's plan to make
lower Broad more pedestrian friendly. The current state of affairs looks like this...and this...is a normal Saturday morning; no events in the stadium or arena, no concerts or award shows!!!
Just tourists! The other side of the street looks exactly the same.
The plan (I will include diagrams as soon as I can acquire some) involves ....
- widening sidewalks
- eliminating on street parking
- landscaping of sidewalks
- installation of strategically placed planters to discourage mid-block crossing
- installation of landscaped median barriers between 7th and 5th on Broadway
