I know many have suggested commuter rail along the BNSF tracks parallel to Grand Avenue, however, just because there are existing tracks for freight trains doesn't mean it is the ideal route for transit purposes in terms of potential ridership.
I would think my light rail routes would probably get more ridership than any commuter rail route that would utilize existing freight train tracks, otherwise there would have to be a lot of right-of-way acquired and tracks layed, which would be very expensive.
