This is personal opinion and some wishful thinking, but although the NOLA skyline has seen very little change in the last few decades with only a couple of new towers being built, there are basic things that could be done to improve its appearance. In particular, what comes to mind is the Tulane University Building on Canal near I-10. This building could use refreshing. I’ve seen it done in Houston, where an older 1970’s brown masonry building was cleaned then painted white making it look decades newer. Doing this to the Tulane Building, 1010 Common and a few others downtown would brighten up the aging skyline and the appearance of downtown. It would also make these towers look decades younger. The Tulane Building would look similar to the hotel that was proposed for 1148 South Peters if cleaned and painted. Any thoughts? (The picture posted of the Tulane Building appears to have been taken when it was newly built.)
