However, I don't think that nothing should be built (not that that's what you're saying). Growth is a healthy part of a city's life (preaching to the choir here). It can be done in a good way, but change will happen no matter what. It's better to be a part of the change and help craft it in a way that works with the neighborhood rather than fight it (or worse, ignore it) and be disappointed when it doesn't go your way.
