I'm aware of Tsakopoulos' influence in Northern California, I grew up in Sacto and remember a lot of the smaller developments he pushed through. However, he doesn't rule the City of Sacramento with an iron fist, and hopefully the system works in this case. I appreciate the fact that he is celebrating his Greek heritage, but celebrating it with such an architecturally inappropriate design, especially at that scale, is just ludicrous. It makes no sense to plop a beautiful example of a low-rise classical building onto a modern high-rise structure. It's just plain poor taste.
