The thing is, existing properties would have to sell to developers (which has happened already) to bring the magnitude of those type of projects into the East. I can see a few random high rises happen, before a huge mixed used project for East Memphis.
On a side note Cordova area has "embraced" mixed use projects. Parkside at Shelby Farms, Dwell at Shelby farms, and the massive project at the old Cordova country club
