Canada's automatic qualification still needs to be voted on by FIFA. They're not guaranteed automatic entry yet.
Given the quality of talent coming through the system Canada should be able to qualify for a larger 48-team field in 2026. Without the US and Mexico in CONCACAF qualifying there would only be a handful of teams potentially better than them with three qualifying spots available. By 2026 the quality of Canada's team
should be better,
if we have to qualify on our own merit.
