Having had the chance to mull over the renderings, I have a few more thoughts:

-I'm surprised they didn't make the tower taller. The existing clinic is actually a fairly large space, the main level really sprawls, and the tower is fairly substantial too. At first glance, it looks like this tower wouldn't be much bigger than the existing building by much if at all.

-No two ways about it, the parkade on the lower levels is hideous. I really wish they could have found a way to hide it. I guess they at least get a good effort ribbon for hiding it from sight on ground level.

-Too much gray in the palette. Even blue in the glazing would do a lot to keep it like looking like a big, dull monolith.

I realize I'm coming down hard on it here... I do like the fact that they went with a fairly vertical orientation for the clinic, but it's too bad they couldn't have made it at least a bit nicer. In some ways it keeps the Medical Arts Building tradition of drab physician-owned midrise medical clinics alive.
