NYC is to Art Deco what Chicago is to Modernism. Each city is the style's respective heavy weight in the country/world? I wouldn't take it personally. He's from NYC. I'm sure he grew up thinking, "THIS is how buildings are supposed to look."
Personally, I wouldn't mind another one of his towers, but in actual limestone and with a copper roof.
