I don't recall their looking at developing in Denver; in fact I don't recall their being much of a developer although they may be the lead investor in projects. In any case it looks like Brookfield is now interested in being involved directly in development so why not buy a couple of companies that do? Looking down through the Google feeds it looks like they offered to buy the 2/3rds of GGP (formerly General Growth Properties) a yuge shopping center owner. Wonder if they're not looking more at future redevelopment potential? GGP has struggled for years.
