The big screen returns to the Big Easy
The Louisiana film industry received a big boost Thursday from Lift Productions, the state’s largest film and television production company. Construction on the new state of the art facility is not scheduled to be completed until the end of 2007 or the beginning of 2008.
The company broke ground on a $180 million cutting edge art film studio in the heart of the city.

The L.I.F.T. Productions Studio will provide jobs for as many as 4,000 New Orleanians.
The 9 block long 300,000 square foot facility will be built adjacent to the Lafitte housing development, which is slated for demolition.
The studio will also provide New Orleans residents with training for the industry. The facility is being called a film factory: a world class production studio, distribution house and a film vocational school to train Louisiana students.
Lift Productions is a Louisiana based company, which has produced 30 motion pictures and television movies.
Lift Productions has produced and financed films for Sony Pictures Entertainment, Lionsgate and Element films
