Sorry to disagree with everyone, but I think it is awful. Pure, unadulterated kitch. These types of awkward attempts to fit into Chinatown are not rare in North America. Here is one in Montreal:
And I seem to remember a ghastly Holiday Inn in San Francisco Chinatown, back in the early 70's....hope it got imploded.
