There's a lot of snow but it's too far south for the Lake Ontario snowbelt. Still, it's cold and snowy. Winters are no joke.
I will say that summers are almost perfect, with low-ish humidity and high 70's/low 80's. The dense forests and high elevation help too.
The only really bad things about Ithaca are rough winters, kinda isolated (no freeways and not near anything but forests, lakes and vineyards) and it's pretty small. But culturally and socially it's almost like a mini-NYC or mini-Boston in the wilderness.
