Mmmmm...Paula's Pancake House. It's worth the 45 minute drive.
Solvang totally feels like Disneyland to me, but some reason people flock there in droves.
The little village of Los Olivos (also featured in 'Sideways') about 5 miles north is very quaint as well, but feels much less theme-parkish.
