Raptor: For a person like me or many, many others who wouldn't be able to take a job that covered international traveling; What would you say would be the most COST-EFFECTIVE and at the same time highest EDUCATIONAL value for some world traveling?

Maybe about a budget of $10,000 - $20,000 total, for the whole world. Where would you recemmond a person to go: Maybe something like --> Toronto, to Montreal to Vancouver to Seattle to San Francisco to Los Angeles to Mexico City to Sao Paolo to Beunos Aires to Santiago to Sydney to Tokyo to Hiroshima to Osaka to Seoul to Beijing to Shanghai to Hong Kong to Chongqing to Jakarta to Singapore to Taipei to Kuala Lumpur to Dehli to Kalkutta to Bangalore to Dubai to Abu Dhabi to Beirut to Tehran to Tel Aviv to Cairo to Istanbul to Casablanca to Rome to Athens to Milan to Marseille to Paris to Nice to Barcelona to Madrid to Lisbon to Brussels to Amsterdam to Rotterdam to Berlin to Frankfurt to Hamburg to Munich to Prague to Budapest to Warsaw to Riga to Helsinki to Moscow to St Petersburg to Stockholm to Copenhagen to Oslo to Geneva to Zurich to London to Manchester to Edinburgh to Dublin to Reishjavik (sp?), to San Juan, to Miami to Atlanta to Washington DC to Philadelphia to NYC to Boston to Pittsburgh ( ) to Chicago to Minneapolis to Denver to Las Vegas to Sedona to Houston to Austin to Dallas to New Orleans to Honolulu. (EDIT: That's 85 cities right there, not counting small towns that might be nice stop off/drive through places)

Does that sound like a pretty good trip to get a feel for the world?

How much do you think that would cost, airfare, train travel, scooter rentals and sleeping if I did a BARE BONES hostel in every city and also ate on the cheap at leasst twice a day and then maybe one decent meal for dinner. Any extremely rough estimate?

I would love to just take a few months off and travel the world and come back a changed man.

What are your tips? are there even hostels in the US? Asian countries? South America? Europe, i think is most famous for them?

Please help me. I want to experience the world somewhat before I die and this would be a dream of mine that you seem to best be able to give some pointers on to me.

Thank you so much.
