Wow! That would be a really positive outcome for that area. That place is blighted by surface parking lots that seem to stretch for miles right now. It would be incredibly good for The Marchesa theater which is run by the Austin Film Society and located in the Lincoln Village shopping center. Really great indie/art house theater. Anybody here been there yet? I desperately want it to thrive but it needs that area to start doing well. Lots of students living and going to school around there would/will be a huge boost.
I didn't realize that ACC was going to purchase the entirety of Highland Mall, though. That's really cool. This area was my stomping grounds growing up so it makes me kind of emotional to see it changing for the better. North Austin 4 lyfe!
