WINNIPEG: Testing the new camera

Greetings, Y'all.

I recently got a new camera, and thought I would take it out around the downtown area to check out how the zoom works. I'm sure I didn't do the technology justice with my novice skills, but it was exciting for me to get out there anyways. Here's my tiny tour; hope you enjoy.

Word.

Let's start off with a shitty one:

St. Boniface, our French Quarter:

Red River:

Red River Redux:

Looking NorthWestish:

Towards Main Street:

Yep:

Skating:

Skating II:

Panorama:

Downtown lookin' West:

"Golly, Dave, that IS erect," she agreed:

Ye Olde Building:

Winnipeg's really coming into its own. Not unlike my priest:

The ol' Red River:

You can't have too many of these shots. Well, maybe you can. But I can't:

Photography, while sexually stimulating, can also be very cold:

Towards Portage and Main:

The Manitoba Hydro Building and her solar chimney:

Union Station in the foreground:

The southern lil' bit of Downtown:

Yeah, yeah.... There's a lot of these pictures. But I stomped around with a sore back in the cold to snag some panoramas. Armed only with a camera, a blunt, and a wealth of self pity, this is what I reaped along my journey:

What's left of the St. Boniface cathedral after Hurricane Mulroney:

Front'n'Centre is our delightful Hotel Fort Garry:

If I were rich and eccentric I would remove the lamp post simply to take this shot:

St. Boniface Hospital, the area's second largest:

Old St. Boniface:

French Quarter Panorama:

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, otherwise known as the Expensive Building:

Wacky:

Obligatory shot from the Forks:

If you would like to learn more about possums, go to nationalgeographic.com:

Main Street and St. Mary's Avenue, or Main & St. Mary's, as the locals know it:

Portage Avenue:

Not Portage Avenue:

This concludes our splendid tour:

Thanks ever so much for browsing this lil' set.

I'm off like a prom dress.
