Planning update for a bike route envisioned to connect Grand Rapids with Kalamazoo (which would be amazing):

The project is still in the planning process, but three possible routes have been identified:
  • Old interurban rail line
  • Use of existing interior/country roads
  • A route along US-131
The old interurban rail line is the most popular option so far, said Suzannah Deneau, Wightman & Associates Inc. project engineer. The land is now owned by Consumers Energy, which is willing to work with the trail planners, but they also must get permission by various people and businesses along the old rail line that Consumers offers easements to...
There is an interactive map on the article that shows the proposed routes. The former interurban rail line route gets my vote.
