Project: 842 Sixth Avenue

Filings have been submitted for a 25-story hotel at 842 6th Avenue, in Midtown Manhattan, between 29th Street and 30th Street. Demolition permits have already been pulled for the existing seven-story building. The site is just a few blocks away from the Empire State Building, Penn Station, and Madison Square Park, and sits within the burgeoning Midtown South hotel corridor.

The 315-foot tall structure will yield 77,900 square feet for residential use, making it a fairly slim structure, with a floor area ratio of 10:1. Guests will have access to a reading lounge, boardroom, fitness center, and break room in the cellar. Outdoor amenity space, lounge, and two bars will occupy the third and fourth floors. The remaining floors above will have eight units per floor, with 168 rooms in total.

Subway Stations are nearby with about as many lines as one would expect for such a high-profile location. The 28th Street Station, on 7th avenue, is a few blocks away and serviced by the 1 and 2 trains. The 28th Street Subway station is a few blocks East on Broadway, which is serviced by the N, Q, R, and W trains. All these lines service the 34th Street Station, accompanied by the B, D, F and M trains.
