We need another crossing or two near Yesler Terrace -- maybe a street just south of Yesler (as shown in an early EIS) and a nice flat skybridge from a new elevator/stair tower at Jefferson, meaning an easy stroll vs. three blocks of very steep hill.

From the photo, I'd start a block north with a full-block fill-in except that little residential tower. It's a block from the convention center so air flow wouldn't be an issue. It's a huge pedestrian commuting route to our densest census tracts. With the grade change they could do a mid-block skybridge over Boren to the roof of the proposed convention center annex which could wrap around to a flat connection at Pine and a hillclimb to Olive. This is a rare chance for a sizeable park (three acres?) in what's becoming a very dense area on all sides.

Denny should have a sidewalk on the north side, of course. It's a crime that it doesn't already. A new skybridge could parallel the existing bridge and add 10' maybe. Or they could go big and give it a park, maybe 50' or even 300' wide. It would get tons of use.

And a skybridge at least is badly needed in the Thomas/Harrison/Republican area. Around Republican there's some excess room for structural supports for something big. At Thomas they might have to keep it to a basic skybridge though I'm purely guessing.
