Not the Sexiest news around, but still - From PBJ Today:

Quote:
A foundation started by director Steven Spielberg has donated $1 million to the National Museum of American Jewish History, the museum said Wednesday.

The gift from the Righteous Persons Foundation, which was started with proceeds from Spielberg's "Schindler's List" movie, will go toward the $150 million capital campaign at the NMAJH.

With the gift, the museum has raised $111 million of the $150 million needed to build the 100,000-square-foot museum now under construction at 5th and Market streets in Philadelphia. The figure includes construction costs and an endowment.

The National Museum of American Jewish History, which is located in smaller quarters on North 5th Street, is "dedicated to telling the still unfolding story of Jews in America."

The new museum, which will face out on Independence Mall, is slated to open in 2010.

Major contributors so far include Sidney Kimmel, founder of Jones Apparel Group and namesake of, and contributor to, the Kimmel Center; Ed Snider, chairman of Comcast Spectacor; the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation; Dr. Alexander and Lorraine Dell; and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
