The southern half of Durand is very well preserved, but over the years, many mansions have been lost. The
Durand Neighbourhood Association was formed to protect and preserve the historic character of the neighbourhood. The northern part of the neighbourhood closer to Main St. is almost entirely highrises from the 70's. In the pic below you can see one lonely victorian home (bottom left) among a bunch of apartments.
