I remember--and it wasn't so long ago--that the only residences in "downtown" Interbay (off West Dravus Street between 15th Avenue W and 17th Avenue W) were two or three decrepit houses. Who'd have thought there would now be a couple of good-sized complexes with these two more being added. I guess it's an indicator of just how scarce land for larger projects is in the city that these-sized residential projects have come to Interbay. Even in this isolated area, all residents have to do to go food shopping is walk across the street to the QFC. Also across the street from the Axle to the north is this semi-industrial/wharehouse scene:



And of course there is always the busy (and noisy) Interbay rail yard close by.
