I didn't know about this great statue of D.K. in Huntington Beach! I did know there was one of him on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.

The wiki page also list some films he appeared in. I'd seen one of them a few times before, but I don't recall knowing he was in it. He played a Native Chief in the 1955 film Mister Roberts.

When I was in Hawaii (early December that year) the USPS had a stamp of Duke Kahanamoku out and I used it on all the mail I sent out from there...postcards (even though first class) and Hawaiian Christmas cards!
