I never used to care for LDS temples--the old timey looking ones anyway. I found their particular take on neo-classical to be sterile and even ahistorical. But I've come to admire their design language now largely because it helps to establish them in the modern world. That's something that I find lacking in a lot of modern neo-classical/traditional/whatever design: projects are often conservative, safe, and detached from the modern world, but are too paired back (for economical reasons I assume) to be seen as a direct link to pre-war architecture.

This one is clearly an LDS temple, with an Art Deco feel. Beautifully finished, fabulous windows. Looks new, looks like a clearly modern take on classical design--but with integrity.
