Tribute to Japan 3/11 - hkskyline's 2011 in TOKYO #4

Located close to the waterfront, the World Trade Center's observation deck is not as famous as Tokyo Tower, City View, or City Hall, but still offers very nice views.

148. North

Shiodome's skyscrapers come into view, and Marunouchi's shorter buildings are further away.

153. Wintry air clears out the smog, and the skies were exceptionally clear today. Tokyo Tower is topped out but will not open for another half year.

161. West

I chose to visit around lunch time, when the sun should be directly above the sky. I was not disappointed. The light was just right to see Roppongi and Tokyo Tower.

169. Tokyo's buildings are generally not too tall, so the sun can actually reach the sidewalks.

173. South

Photographing the southern parts was quite tough as it was against the light. I was nevertheless happy that 3 out of the 4 sides worked out well. Plenty of trains passed along the tracks below.

174. Fuji TV on Odaiba was fully visible. Smog doesn't seem to be a problem in the winter months.

176. East

The eastern parts of the city are quite a mystery to me. Surprisingly, there were plenty of skyscrapers on the reclaimed lands in Tokyo Bay. Wouldn't the land liquefy in an earthquake?
