Not a huge fan of those either, but I think I give them at least a partial pass because the associations with the old world feels relatively more present there. Same reason Victoria isn't as bad in my mind. But yeah, ideally I think they could all be better named.
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is probably my favourite.
