This is one of the few times I will defend a broken streetwall. I dont think the setback is that bad at all. One thing that could be done to make it look more "intentional" would be for the temple to wrap that grey stone around the corner onto the party wall (at developers expense?) or create a living wall of plant material. As for the bank branch who cares that probably wont stay that long anyways - the wall of the new building seems to be anticipating that.
