About two and a half years after opening Katy Boardwalk Lofts, Houston-based Sueba USA will start construction on a second apartment complex at the developing Katy Boardwalk District near Katy Mills on April 8.

The developer just closed a $40 million construction loan with Amegy Bank, said D.J. Blanchard, vice president of development legal affairs at Sueba.

Located at 125 Prairie Parkway, Boardwalk Square will be built a block away from the first complex along a newly constructed road that leads to the boardwalk. Estimated completion is in 2026.

Boardwalk Square will have 353 studio to three-bedroom units in 21 different floor plans ranging from 496 to 2,088 square feet.

Sueba USA affiliates Sueba Consulting Inc. and SCS 221 Series are handling design and construction in house.

Boardwalk Square is the second phase of Sueba USA’s apartment development at the Katy Boardwalk District, which is public-private partnership between the city of Katy, the Katy Development Authority and developers KBH Venture and Sueba USA.

After opening Boardwalk Lofts in November 2021, Sueba sold the property to Reston, Virginia-based TTI Capital in March 2022.
