BTW if Cal Pers is (the equity partner), then there must be a pretty sizeable profit margin for them to do so. They normally don't involve themselves in risky investments.

I think you're generally right about Calpers' historical risk aversion, but I've read in several places lately that they plan to seek greater risk/returns in the near future (they have a new Chief Investment Officer that is starting real soon (if he hasn't started already)
