Second Show for Magnetic Hill?

What's that? A Magnetic Hill concert near the end of June? Isn't it Aug. 6 featuring AC/DC, as announced Thursday? Well. . . yes and fans are ecstatic the long-rumoured show is now confirmed. But this gumshoe's readers with sharp memories will recall that Sleuth has reported more than once that the city was aiming for two big shows at the Hill this year. Sleuth knows of what he speaks.

Moncton is virtually ready to announce a second show, which Sleuth hears will be in early July (not during Atlanticade, though that had at one time been a possibility), but it is holding off on that announcement briefly to give the August AC/DC show time to rack up sales and build momentum. The city shouldn't need much time, though, given that tens of thousands of AC/DC tickets at other venues have sold literally within minutes, not hours or days.

So who's the headliner for the July show? Sleuth is sworn to secrecy but can say rock 'n' roll fans will be flocking from far and wide. If the August show will feature one of the hottest acts on the planet right now, the July show won't be very far behind. It's definitely "bigger than KISS", rumoured to be playing somewhere down the road this summer to a much smaller than expected crowd.
