Kerala's knowledge hub is not only growing in the area's of IT, Space reaserch and other R& D areas, but also in foriegn language literature.


Literary Sojourn

That Indian literature fast becoming hot property in the West might not be news anymore.

But not many in India are aware that the growing interest in Indian literature

Celia Vaudaine,was in the city on Friday for the inauguration of the renovated French Information Resource Centre at Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum.

We also have residence projects where we invite French authors to India to write books pertaining to India or India relations with France. Marie Desplechin and Frank Pavloff are two noted French novelists who visited India as part of these programmes recently.

Novelist Paule Constant will be visiting Thiruvananthapuram in October. We are also organising a conference of feminine authors in the Jawaharlal Nehru University in October, which includes women writers from Canada and Mauritius besides India and France.

Last time we had conducted a workshop in Thiruvananthapuram in collaboration with the Toonz Animation Academy.

The book section of the French Embassy plans to launch a major programme in 2008
