A downtown San Jose property owner has proposed a new 26-story mixed-use tower filled with 400 units, or about 900 beds, for students near the university’s campus on the edge of the city’s core. Schoennauer, partner at San Jose-based The Schoennauer Co., is working with property owner Brent Lee to get the needed approvals and entitlements for the project.

The tower is expected to be about 285 feet at the northeast corner of North Fourth and St. John streets.
