Some of the trends are pretty obvious ...

Random acts of violence, often with pretty nasty collateral damage, happens more often in the inner city (such as the recent roadhouse example). Incidents involving prostitution and street level drug trafficking are two more examples where inner city is king. Public drunkenness and pan handling turned violent are more examples where inner city is king. Domestic violence is going to happen more where there are couples, so areas more likely to have singles have less of an issue and places with couples / families have more. Grow ops, often run by those with the inner city distribution networks, no doubt choose out of the way places. Often that is way out 'edge of town' burbs (like copperfield) and even commuter communities (like chestermere). Regarding risks of fires to neighbors, there is no doubt this is an issue beside grow ops, but more and more this is an issue with density, in particular row housing and low/mid-rise construction (the one by the talisman centre across from the stampede grounds was an epic example).
