South Jersey hospital to begin work on $205M expansion project

Quote:
Jefferson Washington Township Hospital is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for its $205 million expansion project.

The expansion at the medical center on Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Turnersville, N.J., will take place in two phases: the first carrying a $23 million price tag and the second priced at $182 million.

...

The first phase of the project will include the construction of a eight-level parking garage with more than 800 spaces, which will be free to patients and visitors. The project will also create an additional 340 surface parking spaces.

The parking structure is expected to be completed next spring.

The second phase, set to begin in March of 2019, will include construction of a seven-floor patient tower with 60 private rooms – and space for another 60 private rooms if needed in the future.

Also planned for the tower are:
- a new main hospital entrance;
- a "spacious, two-story, light-filled" hospital lobby;
- a hospital cafeteria with outdoor seating;
- a same-day surgery unit and recovery room; and
- a new central processing distribution center.

The anticipated completion time for the second phase is the spring of 2021.
