April Fool aside, I think it sucks that the US, land of the "War on Drugs", is actually leading in legalizing marijuana in North America. Every time we took time to study these laws and impacts of marijuana on the society, we came to the conclusions that it was stupid and the drug pretty harmless.
The senators that studied this issue in 2002 came to the conclusion that these laws should be changed to legalize marijuana and its trade, and went further by stating that Canada should take a leading role to lobby the United Nations to change existing conventions. This was not a study made by
Mark Emery but a bunch of old farts from the Senate.
Our governments shelved these studies because they didn't have the balls to stand up to the US at the time. And now Harper is still putting out laws today to restrict access to marijuana for medical purposes, what a shame.
