Yonge and Eg is rapidly developing its own downtown feel, which will likely only be boosted by the number of towers under construction (i.e.:
https://www.gta-homes.com/toronto-co...-yonge-street/ ), not to mention the 2-million commercial redevelopment on the northwest corner and, as someone mentioned, the LRT station.
However, the stretch between Eg and Bloor seems a little slower to intensify, so in that sense, it may be a while before it is truly "connected" to downtown Toronto. Still a great option for those looking for an urban neighbourhood though.
