The Lakers are going to have their hands full if they play Houston next. Houston basically has two versions of Denver's Dante Jones. Houston has Yao Ming who can hold his own against Bynum, Oden and Gasol all at the same time! And Tracy McGrady can score head-to-head with Kobe Bryant, do not forget that. Sure, perhaps Bryant is better, but he will also have two defensively specialists in his face and Yao Ming dominating the paint.
I honestly think Houston wins this match up and could take it to a game 7 and pull off an upset. I woudl still give the Lakers a 60% chance to win the series. But I think Houston has a 40% chance to win it in a game 7.
I'm not sure whom Denver would match up better against, LA or Houston. it's close, so I don't think it really matters. Denver will have to play intense and hard either way, to have a chance to win the West. That includes against Dallas.
