I've never gone, but I always hear that traffic is a real bitch coming and going. I like to avoid headaches like that.

First year I've gone. It was actually a pretty good night. Getting in and out of there was a bit of a nightmare but really not a huge deal.

However I could hear the fireworks from our place. The Italy show lit up the low clouds a couple of times with a nice green tint.

Yeah, they have shuttles that will take you back and forth. To be honest though, I would prefer to drive and park as I feel like it would be more chaos trying to commute back on that bus with the masses, lol. It really wasn't too bad though, took about ten minutes to find parking and 15 minutes to walk there. Besides, it was amazing out that night, so it was perfect for a little walk.

I went on the final night with my friends who live in the NE. we walked down to Elliston Park so didn't have to worry about traffic nightmares. arrived later than I've come before and I didn't have a ticket (my friends purchased theirs in advance) so I went to the ticket booth and waited to purchase my ticket when some lady gave the lady infront of me 2 free tickets, and she gave me one since she only needed one! sweet! karma must be working in my favour!

Even though we arrived later than I've come before, we still had enough time to grab some grub and find a spot to nosh before the fireworks started. Indonesian food was hit (noodles) /miss (coconut rice) and ok (chicken satay) but they had the shortest line as some of the other food tents were ridiculously long. Also had a jamaican beef patty that was ok.

The fireworks were fantastic! quite possibly the best show I've seen! (this is my 3rd year attending. I'm 3/3 since I came here in '09)
