Day 17: Walked to the Sears Tower from where we were staying near the John Hancock Center. We were in a bit of a hurry because we had to get back to the hotel and check out by 11 or so.
After checking out we went to explore the Lincoln Park area.
The plan was to stop in Milwaukee and then camp out near Minneapolis, but we spent too much time in Chicago and then got lost
several times trying to get out of the city and find our way through the mess of highways. Instead, we just cut across Wisconsin to La Crosse and then spent the night in Albert Lea, southern Minnesota.
Anyways, after illegally, but accidently, running a bunch of tolls and then trying to go through a toll but not having any American change, we made it to the Mississippi River. My license is probably wanted in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Into Minnesota now, state 5 of 10.
Drove late into the night and then stayed at a shitty motel in Albert Lea
Day 18: Survived the motel, saw giant modern for the first time and pulled and hopped a barbed wire fence to take a closer look.
Apparently they're huge
Thanks for viewing!
I'm going to put the rest of the photos (Minnesota to Vancouver) in a thread in the General Photography section because we didn't pass through any large cities on the way and then I'll post the link here after I do that.
It was an incredible trip: 11500 km, 21 days, 10 states, 6 provinces, 4 great lakes, 2 friends, and 1 hell of a good time
