Flava in Philly

This was my first time ever in Philadelphia... It certainly won't be my last. The amount of stuff I saw over the course of the week I spent there is making me dizzy even as I type this but it was well worth it. In addition to Philly I visited Camden in brief and have some pics to show for it.

Oh, and shout out to Volguus... I hope I scarred you for life in the best possible way haha. Thanks to you I'm somewhat skeptical about posting the list of neighborhoods I hit up according to google maps given that some of the neighborhood names seem to be bogus. I'll leave it at that I got to know North, West and Downtown Philly very well... South Philly not as much.

Here's what my week in Philadelphia looked like...

This is up there with the best of the Philly threads I've seen on here. Legit.

Defend the future.

I currently live a block from that mural. Glad to see you got around so much! Volguus must've given you a good list of things to do, as expected.

Come back soon, Philly misses you already!

Really? Damn, should've contacted you... I was in that area twice.

And surprisingly enough, Volguus was only my guide through Center City... before I arrived in Philly I made a schedule of all the neighborhoods I wanted to see, which is what appears in this thread. Volguus certainly gave me a lot of laughs though lol.

Next time you're coming let me know before hand, I will be in a different neighborhood however since this is my last year at Temple.

I've never seen Philly in-depth like this before. If I didn't know any better, I'd have guessed some of those shots were taken from the Bronx back in the 70s. I never realized just how run-down parts of Philly were. Excellent work, and it's good to hear a NorCal guy like me liked the city.

Yeah it's pretty sad. There is a good couple mile swath of North Philadelphia that looks like this and I assume that's where Nineties Flava was. Some of the architecture in this area is stunning however.

Nice pictures! I am not familiar with a lot of Philadelphia neighborhoods, but I noticed Overbrook Farms pictures, which I went through myself later in May. You seemed to cover a lot of ground throughout most of the areas of the city.

Since it's obvious that you were going up and down the East Coast, did you happen to stop in Delaware?

HA!

You covered a lot more ground than I thought. You really put that week to good use and got all over the damn place. Killer collection!

Next time hopefully it won't be so bloody hot.
