Not surprising at this point, but interesting that the potential for redevelopment of their existing full block site still exists:

Portland Clinic nixes building plans, seeks new space downtown

The Portland Clinic, which had planned to anchor a brand new medical office building downtown, has abandoned those plans amid changing market conditions.

The independent medical practice is instead looking at consolidating its administrative and clinical offices into one 20,000-to-30,000-square-foot leased space either downtown or in the Pearl District, said Patrick Menzies, who came on board as CEO a year ago.

“The Pearl District is very appealing, but we’re open to anything in city central,” he said.

At the same time, the clinic is figuring out the future of its flagship building, constructed in 1974, on Southwest 13th Avenue between Taylor and Yamhill.

“We have been in discussions with a developer for the entire block, which we own,” Menzies said Wednesday.

It makes a lot of sense. Plus the potential to fill some vacant office/commercial space in the core.
