But there's, like, a bridge.

Who would get on or off there? There is no transit destination nearby, no residences, no businesses, no jobs.

For bus transfers? Not much futher to go for transfers at the next closest stations.

People using a STO bus route that jumps off from the LRT line and runs directly to Tunney's during peak. Or during not-peak. Or during special events. Or during disruptions which require replacement service. People biking or walking across the Champlain bridge to access the STO system.

Transit is about topology, too, not just proximity. It is a massive lost opportunity to not take advantage of this topology.

For transfers to and from any mode of transportation that can use the Champlain Bridge, bus or otherwise.

Yeah - Saint-Dominque Parc-o-bus is just over 1km away along a very quiet Boul Lucerne and is already used for transfers for regular and special event routes.

We need to stop maximizing transfers and actually provide service that is more direct. For example, to a park n ride and even better to a major transfer point for local bus routes or both.

But this wouldn't be about maximixing transfers within the transit system. It would be about maximixing them between other modes and the transit system.

Topology matters a lot.

I don't disagree. I'd like to see an analysis of how many people bike/walk across the bridge and how much extra time it would be to get to the nearest "existing" stations. Utlimately, one extra stop (which is just platforms and bus shelters no doubt) isn't going to break the bank.

Kind of important to know if these funds to compelte the studies will be available BEFORE the election so that citizens can make an informed decision.

Im really bored of all the bs the govs, provincial and federal is doing to the outaouais. The hospital, the tram, the fake ontario people that lives in Gatineau, the city that is really bad in infrastructure planning. It's an amazing place with great opportunities but seems everything is against us. I know it's the same all over the country but definitely worst over here. Can someone think about a city that has a worst situation?

Looks like majority of the candidates do not want the tramway.
