you have pictures of most of those...i know you just took those pictures today, but the first one isnt even a construction site.

I think most of us are sitting on the fence right now. No doubt it is a great looking building. From some angles it looks really dark and in others it looks really light. The base is also only starting to form up. I think what will make this project is the (White?) LED strip on the corner of 3rd Street and 6th Avenue SW.

Uh, the LED strip has also changed since the night rendering was made. It now has this criss-crossing pattern instead of just being a pole.

Here's a look so far:

If you look hard enough you can see another crane in the background

VANMAN, Shangri-La is going to be huge, not 100% sold on the glass but I'm sure it'll all come together in the end.

I'm lovin' Shanghri-La, and technically its the tallest building under construction in Canada until B-A has a foundation.

Here are some pics of the Shangri-La from a couple weeks ago. You can see a few of the solar charged light tiles installed that will run along the two street facing sides of the tower. In these pictures there are 2 installed but at the moment there are more like 15.

And here's the webcam from today...

Shangri-La is coming along really well - I was actually there on Saturday but without a camera so thanks.

Here are a couple of additional pics of Calgary sites at very different points in the construction phase (they're actually from this morning).

Centennial

Courts Centre

The glass in the middle seems to be of a different colour in this light - I guess it might always look different as it's all windows and no blanked out floors.

can't believe Shangri-la will be 600 feet tall - talk about point tower

also can't believe how fast the pit is growing for Centennial - where does the fill go?

That square is going to be so bloody bright when the ads go up, it'll be a cool spot at night. And is it just me or does Centennial place not resemble Bay and Adelaides last design?

Here's a picture Haliguy posted of a new crane put up across from the Commons yesterday, on the site of the "Armoury Square" condo building (10 stories). Behind it, in the background, you can see the new Gladstone Ridge tower (12 stories, under construction), which will soon get an identical twin.
