Monterey & Carmel

Carmel-by-the-Sea (pop 4,081)

Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo

And for those native Californians who know what I am talking about, this is the mission I did my fifth grade report on.

The city of Carmel

A quick stop at a famous California vista...amazing how well behaved one will be for a cookie!

Monterey (pop 30,641)

My baby boy enjoys a little time at the beach too!

There is more to Monterey than just the aquarium and water front.

Back to the beach

No everything in Monterey Bay can be beautiful to see.

On to Santa Cruz...

Great shots. You certainly get around a lot. I should be traveling so much.

Hah, brings back memories. I did a 4th grade report on Mission San Francisco de Asis (Dolores). I remember we took a field trip to the mission in Carmel though.

Damn it's just soooo beautiful. I wish I could be out there running along the coastline. Instead I was stuck with a cold 27F for my run here in Chicago this evening. Blah.

Wow, those are by far the two most beautiful California towns that I've seen! Great photos! Both Carmel and Monterey look like truly unique places. Cute dog too.

Carmel is ridiculous. When I visited I was equally amazed and disgusted by the opulence (why everyone must own a massive SUV there is confusing). Still considered it my favourite stop along the west coast.

C'mon global warming, hurry up so Vancouver can be like that!
