VILNIUS, Lithuania | Guggenheim Museum

The joint Guggenheim (NYC) and Hermitage (St.Petersburg, Russia) museum in Lithuania's capital Vilnius with the winning design by Zaha Hadid (London) which was announced a few days ago.

If the project gets the final approval and financing, it should be done by 2011 before the Abu Dhabi Guggenheim Museum.

Other designs in the competition

Daniel Liebeskind (NYC)

and Massimiliano Fuksas (Rome)

All we can do now is have our fingers crossed that this project will be given a full go ahead and financial support by the local government and businesses which are expected to participate.
