My Own Forbes List: The Most Stressful Planets in the Solar System

Feeling stressed? It could have something to do with the fact that you live on Earth.

Forbes magazine recently named our blue marble as the most stressful place to live in the Solar Sustem.

According to Forbes.com: "With global warming, mass starvation, human trafficking, tsunamis, hurricanes, water shortages, wildfires, volcanoes, and airplane peanuts, there's plenty of reasons to be stressed."

"I can attest to that,'' said Jurgen Samsonite, some random guy from the Svalbards.

Noting this millennium's wars, rising sea levels, and massive extinctions, Jurgen called the ranking "apt."

To arrive at this conclusion, Forbes took a look at quality of life indicators on the planet's 7 largest continents: Nitrogen-Oxygen to Carbon Dioxide levels, habitable temperatures, and fresh water concentration.

Also cracking the top five where the Sun, and Jupiter.

"The Sun is definitely a stressful place, you know with the solar flares and all and nuclear fusion, but as far as I know, no one lives there, so it's gotta be less stressful than having to deal with all these people here on Earth," said Beatrice Longbottoms of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

No kidding. Chicago feels like a nice country retreat compared to living in NY. I mean, obviously these lists are severely flawed (and this is probably the dumbest list I've ever seen EVER) but it is such an egregious mistake to put Chicago above NY in the 'stress' department.

That list is totally without merit! People Magazine should be no lower than 3, Cosmo around 8 and why isn't Ranger Rick Magazine listed?

Was that really necessary?

Obviously this list is flawed because Houston isn't #1, Atlanta #2, and Phoenix #3.

I like how we're the highest in part because of high gas prices.

The transit agencies in this area provide around 2,000,000 rides per day!

I think I'd much rather be stressed taking Metra or the Brown Line to work with $4 a gallon gas than driving with $3.80 a gallon because I have absolutely no other choice. I average around $0 per month on gas living in Chicago.

The weather? People CHOOSE to live here, we're not all "stuck" here. If you don't like it enough, you move away. I'm willing to deal with 10% of my days not reaching 20 degrees so I can enjoy the other 90%.

I'm thinking whoever writes these articles loves living in their low sprawl suburb with the cheapest gas they can find in their nice job and warm weather all year....

I've been saying for ages that Beatrice Longbottoms didn't know what she was talking about... glad to see her finally exposed.

I'm glad I didn't proofread that very well, or else I would have missed out on an excellent Harry Carey moment.

"If the moon was made out of hot dogs, would you eat it? I know I would."
