2 to 5 feet???

Could not dig that with a garden shovel.

In my opinion that structures looks hideous. Though it is good to have a museum on human rights.

frozen ground can be easier to dig, because it is more stable...

the design, like the museum itself will be controvercial...some will hate it and some will love it....in a country of less than inspiring architecture, it will be a welcome conversation piece.

this design was my least favourite of the finalists in the competition, but over the years, it has grown on me and now i am a big supporter of it....i would hold opinion until it is built.....it will certainly be like nothing else in this country...at least it isnt just another crinkly tin gehry, or pointy liebeskind like everyone else is building....awesome or ugly, it will be like no other....how many 330' tall museums do you know?

with the building being located in the middle of nowhere (winnipeg), i think it had to be something that caused discussion to get noticed....the more debate about the building the better....my prediction is that it will be spectacular....a mountain of glass and stone on a flat prairie....it will change the face of the city completely.

these were my two favourite competition finalists...

its location within the city.....a former rail yard being transformed into an urban gathering place and national historic site.

I wasn't a fan of this at first but it really grew on me every single day.

I'm stoked! I can't wait to see it finished.

Although I thought the design was bizarre when I first saw it, I love it now and think it suits the space perfectly. If it were buried within highrises it wouldn't make sense, but out in the open space of the Forks park area it is being showcased as more of a glass "sculpture" than just a regular building. It'll look wicked when lit up at night, I'm sure.

I actually prefer it over any of the other designs. It has this earthy feel to it, while the others seem rather cold and uninviting.

you couldn’t even spell Winnipeg correctly in the title:

Winnepeg | Cmhr | 328 Ft / 100m | 12 Floors

Funky looking? Perhaps.

Something you've never seen before? Definitely!!

It may look "horrible" in those renderings, but I'm sure that once it's finished, the new CMHR would be FAR from ordinary. To me, I actually like it! This will definitely put Winnipeg on the map!

I like it too. I think it will add a TON of character to the forks. It fits well with esplanade Riel. If they would have built a pretty glass box, I would have been terribly disappointed, I'm glad we have something that is without a doubt different.

It's been a long time coming...very much looking forward to construction!

This has the potential to become one of those rare buildings that captivate the world. If the end product is as good as the render, I'll be booking my ticket to Winnipeg.
